About:

Spite: A dragon's Wake is a Diablo clone where the god of the oceans, The Water Dragon, has started ruling over the Mountains as well, cursing the people of the land in the process. You play as an old staff weilding monk who sets off on a mission to free the people from their curse, and defeat the Water Dragon atop the tallest mountain, once and for all.

  • 12 weeks halftime (4hours/day)

  • 3 Level Designers, 6 Programmers, 4 Artists, 2 Procedural Artists

  • Engine: Spare Parts (custom engine developed during the project)

Story:

On a tall mountain, the dragon of the ocean has taken control over the people, turning them into grotesque fish monsters and draining them of their riches in his greed. As a monk wielding a staff and harnessing spiritual abilities, climb the mountain whilst battling the monsters and freeing the people from the dragon who awaits you at the summit.

My Contributions:

  • Project Coordinator

  • Designed the game's second level, of a total of three. This included the overall structure and flow for the level, player experience, set dressing, and lighting.

  • Helped set dress the remaining two levels together with our talented art team and my fellow level designers.

DEJECTED is a game about two sisters in a dystopian world, where the younger sister was sold off to a mega corporation to undergo experiments. In the first half of the game, you play as the older sister, rescuing their smaller counterpart, and finding your way home. In the latter part of the game, you play as the younger sister in her monsterous form, taking revenge on those responsible for her malformation.

Down The Drain is a mibile puzzle game based off of Lemmings, where a mama duck has fallen down the sewer. Your mission is to guide a brood of ducklings in search of their mama duck through many levels of the sewer, while trying to avoid obstacles in the treacherous environment.

My Contributions:

  • Designed three of the game's main levels (2.1, 2.2, 2.3), the four tutorial levels, and co-designed three more levels (3.1, 3.2, 3.3).

  • Set Dressing

  • Acted as Level Design Lead for the LD discipline making sure all levels and progression felt cohesive throughout, and as a voice for our Level Designer's needs in meetings revolving gameplay and mechanics.

On Thin Ice is a game where little penguin-like creatures on an alien planet are having a race. You play as a little partaker in this race and earn points, not only by being fast, but also by doing sick tricks while you're at it!
